New Project Underway to Celebrate Film History

I have good news and bad news, my babies. And in typical human fashion, I will bring you the bad news first. The Little Jazz Baby blog is closing its virtual doors at the end of the year.  However, I am keeping the Facebook fan page because it is rapidly growing these past couple months and, odd enough, is more popular than the blog itself.

The decision to drop this blog was not a hard one.  I have stumbled into a lot of issues with it almost from day one—everything from technical problems to life getting in the way.  So prepare yourselves, darlings, because in December this blog will be no more!

However, that does not mean I am going to disappear from the internet completely.  Oh no.  This is where the good news comes in.   In the near future, I am launching a new website dedicated solely to film history from the teens-late 1950s.

What sort of film history will you find there?

  • Profiles on the creators of film—actors, directors, producers, studios, writers, etc.
  • Reviews on classic and forgotten about films from all over the world
  • Lists of my favorite must-see films
  • Posts dedicated to favorite characters
  • Promotions for anything related to classic film and its stars

And anything else I and people who are interested in the topic can think of….

When will the new website be launched?

I plan on launching this site within the next 3 months.  My target date is January 1, 2014, but I hope to have it up and running before Christmas.

While I am still in the planning stages of this thing, I could certainly use your help.  If you have any ideas or are willing to collaborate with me, please feel free to contact me at any time. I would appreciate any help someone is willing to give.

Since a lot of hits on this site come from people who are looking for things related to classic films and actors, what suggestions do you have for this new project?  Is there anything in particular you want to find that you cannot find on other websites?  Please let me know by leaving a comment below or shooting me an email.  I would love to hear from you!

Oh no! That bad news IS bad news!! (Mainly because I can’t get on FB from home anymore, but I’ll fix that glitch eventually). If you’re having too many problems with it and the FB base is growing it makes perfect sense though. The new idea sounds great, having just watched the original King Kong the other night on TV with the kids I remembered I have a great and comprehensive book on the making of that movie, so if anyone has any questions or wants anything looking up about that (that may not be available on the internet), I’m your man.
I’d also like to contribute something that makes people talk about the animosity between Humphrey Bogart and George Raft, there could be a poll to see who agrees with Bogie and who doesn’t! Have you decided on any definite topics yet Angie, or is it still too early?
